|
|
I am making a memorial for my mom and I want to add a recorded piece of her voice set to a particular pic, is this possible? I want it set at the end of a slideshow, make the music stop, and have this pic come on with her voice at the same time. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Karen. |

Karen,
You may want to consider buying a video editor to compliment 3D Album.
With a video editor you can better control music and narration voice-overs. This would allow you to maintain your music throughout your presentation, and then as you start reaching the end, have your narration fade-in with the music continuing to play in the background at a lower volume. This gives a much smoother effect than keeping music and narration separate.
There are many suggestions on this forum about the various features and cost of video editors. Type in video editor in the search window and you can find this information.
One other suggestion when it comes to narration. Invest in a good microphone. A cheap microphone allows lots of pops and hisses during the recording. A good microphone will limit this. Do not speak directly into the microphone, rather hold it down or to the side of your mouth. This will prevent the "popping P's" and "hissing S's" that inevitably arise when pronouncing words that include these letters. (i.e "say Karen's. Hear the sssss?")
Narration is a wonderful way to personalize your video. It makes it much more memorable. _________________ Michael Young

Thanks Michael, I have Roxio & Pinnacle, which would be better? Do I create my slideshow first & then use it in the editor to do the music? I don't know, I don't get to use this very often. Thanks alot. Karen. |

Karen,
If you are not accustomed to using your editors much, Roxio would be much easier. VideoWave is a relatively easy program to use and has many good features. Adding sound and narration is quick and precise.
Yes, create your 3D video first. I suggest saving it in DV AVI format. Do not use 3D Album for your music soundtrack. Wait and use your editor after saving your file.
Have fun. _________________ Michael Young

I didn't know whether to post this here or start a new topic, but I guess you'll move it if warranted. I have since saved my slideshow(after a lot of topic searching)disabled looping, copy pics & when I try to capture it, I just get a box that pops up quick & closes. I tried this before & a dialog box popped up saying something about hardware accellerator.....& I clicked the option to make the video smaller & I only got one pic at that time. I have since deleted the show, uninstalled/reinstalled my geforce 5200 video card, cleaned out my hard drive(space)[I have 1 1/2 gig memory]: I tried to resave my slideshow & then capture again as dv avi & again the dialog box pops up & closes. I know this is something that I have done or haven't done, any suggestions? |

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner, but I have been capturing my slideshow. I had shut down my virus protection, firewall & pop up blocker but forgot(never dreamed of) having Spyware Doctor running which also has a pop up blocker. Thanks a bunch. Karen [/b] |
