Is there any way to edit a movie.mpg file? The presentation I just created plays ok but it would be better if I could delete one seven second silent .wav file . Is this possible? I thought I read somewhere here about editing the movie.mpg file but can't find it.
Thanks

Thanks, Bill - That's what I was afraid of. I'll have to think about whether I want to go thru the recapture again or not. If all I want to do is change the music a bit, the only album I would have to change would be the first album, correct? the one with the global list of music files?
I have never used any video editing software so that would be a whole 'nother animal for me to learn. XP has a program called Windows Movie Maker - is that a video editing program? |

I think you're right. You should only have to go into the 1st album and change the global music selection.
To be safe, before you run CAPTURE, go to MIXER and preview everything to make sure the change worked. Then, go ahead to CAPTURE to create a new video file.
I don't use Windows Movie Maker, so I'll let someone else answer that part of your question. _________________ Bill

Windows XP Movie Maker is a basic editor. However, if your 3D Album presentation was captured to an MPeg file, the sound is now embedded in the audio stream and cannot be deleted, split, or trimmed without deleting part of the video as well. You could delete or mute ALL the sound, but not just part of it without doing something that only experienced editors can do.
If however, the audio "portion" you wish to delete plays where there is no video stream, or, where it fades to black, you might be OK by splitting and muting or deleting. Give it a try.
On the other hand, if you are not familiar with the basics of video editing (including splitting, trimming, transitioning, etc.), you will probably spend more time learning how to do this, than starting over with your 3D Album.
On a positive note, if you learn the basics of video editing, you will expand your creative capabilities with 3D Album tremendously. It is definitely worth the effort. _________________ Michael Young

Thanks, Michael - Since I have plenty of time (this is for a Christmas present) I think I'll just do it over. Then I'll go make a 'practice' presentation and try using the Windows Movie Maker to edit it.
This forum is so valuable. I really appreciate all the help.
