Hi I have just bought 3d Platinum, updated from 3.27 to 3.29. I am running Vista, on a brand new gateway laptop. I can do just about everything (still learning what all this program can do) but when I go to mixer, composition # x, I get "3D-Album CS has stipped working" the software then has to be closed. I had this problem before I updated to 3.29, I was hoping 3.29 would fix it, but it has not. Any help would be great, otherwise I will have to take back the program if I can not get it working.
Sad

Send an email to support@3d-album.com and tell them the same thing that you said here (or refer them to this thread).

It's interesting that you're getting an error message that talks about the CS version of the program when you're running the Platinum version. You might ask them about that as well.

I am thinking of sending this 3d-album back and getting one that is going to work and supplies human tech support. The help and support with this sucks, there is no one i can talk to on the phone and after spending this amount of money, i would of thought the help would be a lot better but I do thank you guys for being here and helping, it is just frustrating not being able to get help real time, and the help I get from the e-mail makes no sense (they wanted me to install 3.0 then upgrade, ummm the software I bought is 3.27 so how do I install 3.0???). So we are getting really frustrated with this, it was suppose to be fun (yes a learning curve, but not this level of frustration) but is turning into a mistake.

I just tested mixers of 3.29 on my Vista computer. I tried all 6 mixers and did not encounter any problem.

When you perform the update on Vista, you have to be very careful about all directory/folder/file's permission or ownership setting. It is sometimes a very frustrated problem. Vista, designed to be safer or more secure, also post a big burden on users. Once, I tried to update some files in a folder, everything seems okay: the file size and date, all show the information about the new ones. But the software still access to the old ones. As a mater of fact, files are not updated at all even though the new ones show up in the folder. I eventually find the problem: I, the computer administrator, do not own the folder. I have no idea why I do not own the folder even though I created it.

If some files files are not replaced during the update, you'll get conflict modules and the system may crash.

Also, make sure that you've got the right update package. I do not know how many mixers are provided from the Platinum version. If Platinum version has less number of mixers than the CS and you installed the CS upgrade, you may get some incomplete mixers only for CS, which will for sure not work.
