I tried the link. I received an error message about a "new.vexe" file. Can you provide some more information for us?

Actual product version used to create album, including release.

On your hard drive, before you uploaded anything to your web page, what .vexe file would you click on to have your PC run your album for you? If it is a different name from "new.vexe", then you might try tweaking the html code to match that file name.

I look forward to seeing all the cycle pictures.

2.8 - the .8 is probably the version.

What about the .vexe name? List all the files and folders from your BUILD. I suspect your problem is that your vexe has a different name then the web page HTML.

You might consider upgrading to one of the version 3 products. Check out the 3d-album home page for information about that.

I haven't checked in a while, but there used to be a restriction that the web pages would only work with IE. Are you using IE?

I just viewed it. I used http://www.bkky9.org/photo/bkky9.html and saw the first two pictures.

Have your friends try that link. If it doesn't work, then maybe have them download and install the visvivia player before trying to view the web page. The player can be found bottom left area on the http://www.3d-album.com home page.

I'm beginning to suspect that the player program is what you were having problems getting it to register. That may be do to administrative rights on the PC. But, let's get your friends to see your web page before we worry about that.

I'm sorry I can't help you Ed. When I go to the web page listed above (either by entering that URL or by starting with your home page and then following the link, the web page works fine for me.

Very Nice Ed! I TRY to do a friend's family picnic each year that is an 'unofficial' Blue Knight gathering in NY. The only one I have on the web is the 2005 draft.

I just remembered an old posting from Styler about web site problems. I hate to admit this - but this is even in my tutorial, and I forgot about it.

This may why some people can't see the album, but we 3D-Album users can.

Quote:
You may have to tell the people hosting your web site to add the following extensions: vexe, vbin, vspc, vd01, vd02, vd03, and vspc. If these are not added, then the web page will not work correctly. Here??s what Styler said on this subject. Your ISP server uses Microsoft IS6, which requires the administrator to maually include all supported extentions. By default, only standard extentions such as "html", "jpg", "gif", "asp", "php", etc. are supported. Other file formats will not be able to be downloaded from your server unless you add those extesions. Therefore, you need to ask your administrator to add the following extensions: "vexe", "vbin", "vspc", "vd01", "vd02", "vd03".
Other linux based sever should not have these problems.

I hope this fixes your problem. Please let us know.

I am a new user to the product and I am working on another problem. As a test I tried to access my web page from two other computers in my home office. Both computers have the same issue: the web page says you have to load an activex control (I assume that's the viewer), it starts the 2.8Mb download and then says 'Failed to register object'. These are both Windows XP Professional computers and IE 7. If I am going to use this product on my website for users to visit, I can't be having these problems. Most users are not computer consultants like me and I can't even figure out what the problem is.

Can I get some help with this 'can't register object' message. I can't be having users having to go to a website and manually load a viewer. That would make this useless to me and I just purchased it.

I (and my potential customers) are having the same problem with the "Fail to register active object" message when downloading the player, and I am using Album V3.29 CS. It works on some computers but not others.

I have searched the forum and have not found a definitive answer so I appealed to the support group. I described the problem in detail and they are looking into it. Unfortunately they are unable to replicate it.

If and when I get an answer I will post it under the "Fail to register" post.

I virtually gave up trying to use this product on the web because of this very problem. I haven't even used the product in two months because I wanted it for web shows.
