Hi! Glad to have this forum. Razz I have been experimenting with 3D-Albumn for about a year and half. I recently did a photo show for a family reunion and using the PhotoTrain_2 style I added a picture of the old family homestead for the background. It added a lot to the show. You may have to crop and resize your photo in an editor to make it work. To place it, open My Computer expand folders, Program Files, 3D-Albumn, Presentations, Framepresent, PhotoTrain_2 , _background.

Jerry,

Thanks for the tip! Very Happy Tried it and it worked great. Didn't realize you could change backgrounds. I'll have to try this in other presentations.
Thanks again!

Wouldn't it be great if this were a feature added to all the styles!

For example: a menu was available that allowed you to choose your own background from any directory you have on your harddrive. Even better, this background could be a .jpg, .bmp, .tiff, or even .avi, mpgeg2, etc.

Then, all users could create their OWN styles, and even share them on this forum as a new Theme! What a wonderful way of broadening the use of this software.

I use another product called Flipalbum. This product allows users to create custom themes. These themes are widely shared among the users, and as a result, the software use and sales, skyrocketed.

Frogprintz, Very Happy

I agree 100%. Letting us use our own creative juices to make presentations would be the ultimate use for 3d Album.

Its nice to be able to put a presentation together quickly with those available from the company, but if you are using the CS version to make money it needs the flexability to let you design something unique for that customer.

There is lots of potential with this software and I hope through this forum we can bring it out so we may all benifit.

In CS version, you should be able to change, edit and select background image(s) for almost all styles, as well as other textures, such as book covers and pages.

There are two kinds of backgrouds. One has a single image. Another has a set of images. You can select different background image(s) from the provided content library, or from any folder in your computer or network (there is "From File" tab in the image picker in addition to the templates.)

To edit the image, right click on the background thumbnail to show the edit menu. Please note, if you edited the image, you need to save the image to a different copy before you choose another image to replace the current one. 3D-Album will pop up a dialog to remind you about this.

I also used one of my pictures for a scrolling background. I edited my picture using Photo Elements (any editor would work), and created a horizontal mirror image. I then merged the two together, and was able to get a nearly seamless transition.

Hello,

New to 3D Album and the forum here. Could anyone tell me what are the sizes of the images that I may want to use in the styles. Like for covers, pages, textures or what ever is allowed to be customized.

Thank You,

Leon K. Smile

Leon

I find the image(s) in CS and pull them up into my photo editor and look at the size and rez being used. Then I convert my image that I want to use to match whatever the CS programmers used.

You may be able to use other sizes, etc. You'll just have to experiment and see what results you get. The main thing to remember is to save to a different name so as to not corrupt the oringinal image that came with CS. Although, if that should happen, you can always go back to the CD and get the original.
