The following demo is a family tree album that demonstrates the usage of 3D-Album Hotspot feature (available in Commercail Suite and Picture Platinum version). Download the zip file and unzip it to run:

Family Tree Album without play engine (2.7MB) Download this only you have 3D-Album or the Visviva Animation Player installed. After expand, double click the file "FamilyTree.vexe" to run.

Family Tree Album with play engine (5.3MB) Download this if you are new to 3D-Album. After expand, double click the file "FamilyTree.exe" to run.

Please note, photos, text, audio, and video included in this album are only for demo purpose. They are not associated to any real people in the world.

I tried it, did what you said but couldn't get it to work. I have the 3Dcs version. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? - Sandy

styler,
I truly enjoyed the album. I never would have thought to do something like that.

I haven't played around with the album styles much but did notice that when I got the the last page (index) and clicked on one of the entries, it did take me to that page, but then I couldn't continue on in the album from there. What I mean is that after it took me back to that page, if I clicked on the page it took me to a blank page and then to the back cover.

Hi Everyone,

This demo was working in its original version, but the recent change in scripts has something wrong with the hotsopt link. We have corrected this problem. Please redownload the demo.

We also revised the flipping album styles as below. Please note: you must have the style already installed in your 3D-Album. Packages listed below are NOT the complete package. If you do not have the origianl styles, the styles downloaded here will not work.

Flipping#1
Flipping#2
Flipping#3 (Make sure you have the complete style downlaoded before!)
Flipping#5 (Platinum and CS Only)
Flipping#6 (Platinum and CS Only)

For Flipping#7, please log in and redownload the style.

The demo here is created by Flipping#5.

Hello,
It still won't work for me. Actually there isn't even a file named "Family tree.vexe". Just "Family Tree". I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but all that shows up when I go into Family Tree is a 3-toned gray screen. - Sandy

Sandy, this is a zipped folder. When download finish, you have to extract files into a normal Windows file folder. You cannot run it directly while it is still zipped.

If you have XP, follow steps below:

1. Click the link.
2. In Dialog, select Open.
3. You'll have to wait for a couple of minutes
4. When download finish, you'll see "FamilyTree" in Windows Explorer.
5. Click "Extarct all files" in the left panel.
6. In Dialog, browse a folder to save the files, say C:\My-3D-Album
7. Click "Next" button to extract. Then click "Finsih" when done.
8. A new Explorer will open to C:\My-3D-Album.
9. Double click "FamilyTree", you'll see "FamilyTree.vexe"
10 Double click the file to run.

Playing tips:

When cursor becomes a point hand, click the link to jump to the linked page. If you are in the last index page, the book will first close, then re-open and flip to the linked page.

You can use keyboard to control the album:

+ -- Zoom in
- -- Zoom out
g -- Pan left
h - Pan right
y -- Pan up
b -- Pan down
Left arrow -- rotate left
Right arrow -- rotate right
Up arrow -- tilt back
Down arrow -- tilt forward
r -- reset to default view
a -- shift bwteen auto and manual
End -- fast flip to end
Enter -- open thumb image browser and select page to view
PgUp -- previous page
PgDn -- next page
Home -- turn to front page

Nan,

Thank you so much for helping me out on that. I finally did get to view it. I really like the album. Great job! I knew 3D had some of these features, but I haven't experimented with them yet. I look forward to trying it myself. Thanks again - Sandy

Maybe I'm missing something, I have the CS version and I don't see the Hotspot setting. Can someone advise me where it is and you it is used to flip pages and have the pop up windows as in this demo?

Thank you

Bruce

Go the ORGANIZE tab, click on a picture, and then click on the EDIT HOT SPOTS button (bottom left). ACTIONS is what lets you choose to open a document, go to a specific page, etc.

Thank you, I found it. I didn't realize that it was in the organize section.

How did you get it to open the text windows, is that one of the actions that you can set?

I'm not sure what you mean by the text windows. If you're referring to the pages that say "so and so's pictures are not included, they met so and so, etc." then those are actually jpegs that are opened. According to the HELP file, you can open up a document such as word01.doc, so you could also open up a text01.txt file - but you would be dependent on the viewer's file settings as to which, if any, program would open the .txt file.

BTW - For others looking to find Hot Spots, I should have said they were found in the CONTROL tab of the ORGANIZE page.

This demo was created by the 3D-Album staff to demonstrate the product's capabilities.

Thank you for your reply, I understand what you mean and will experiment with it a bit.

Thanks,
