I would like to ask if all the people who have put there video examples on the Gallery share with everyone there expereince in how they did this. I know how it is done, but maybe others don't know. It would be really nice if all the other users would post some examples of there work. It would also be really great if they told us how they made there work if they used any thing special to do this. There are lots of great ways to make a video special but not everyone has the expereince to do this. So if users could describe how they made there examples we could all learn from them. There are a few users who do this like Nan, Frogprintz, Bill Smith, Styler, but very few others if any. I never see any recent work from anyone except these ones come to mind, Frogprintz, Sandy, Swami, Kathy, Fortemac, George, James, etc, but I got to think that others would show there work if they knew how. May be they don't. I can't think it is cost because you can get a website up for just $5.00 a month and there are even free places where you can put your work. Even a service like Neptune costs just a little if someone don't have the time or ability to make a web site. May be the Neptune users could comment on this. I would like to see work where techniques our explained so we can do them to. How about a contest for the best 3da video? Other forums do this. Maybe 3dtime could do this and give a few of there effects as prizes. Why don't some of you respond to this with your thoughts. OK? I'm just gtrying to keep this forum lively by this suggestions.

I think that it would be very nice to post techniques. I read your post before I posted my sample tonight so I did include the style used. With Commercial Sweet and 3D-Time, I haven't found the need to do much out of the ordinary with the videos. HOWEVER . . . because I get lost in time between working from home and playing with photos and 3D-Album, I have found that Sam's Club has a great selection of microwave meals and my husband is truly baffled that I suddenly know how to cook. Headphones for the computer have been a great help because he says I can "burn up a good song in a big hurry".

In all seriousness, I think your ideas are great. I think a contest is a great idea (but could we wait a few months until I get a little more practice?).

Actually, BorisK, I would like to see some of your work. Everyone is welcome to publish their work. You had some great ideas. Don't discount your own ability. Also, by the way, if you would upgrade to Picture Pro you would be able to use some of the cool styles Michael uses as you would be able to download styles from the Internet. I noticed in your info you only had the DVD Suite. Take the plunge and upgrade, and you won't be disappointed.

I'm planning on do just that. Only I want to buy the commercial version and its kind of pricey for me right now. My wife and kids go thru my paycheck before I even see enough for a cold beer on saturday nights. I've got about half saved so I may be able to buy soon. I also need a new scanner because I have an old film camera not one of them new digital ones. My son thinks he will buy me one for my birthday in June so I can save from buying a scanner. Right now I'm going thru all our family pictures and we're trying to choose which ones will make a good album. I keep a notepad and write down all the good tips and suggestions for tenchiques I read about on this forum. Hopefully these good suggestions will help when I actually post some of my work. I'm investigating using Neptune for hosting my albums. This site really llooks good to me and you can make the wmv files look bigger without them looking pixilated. I see from your posts you get to use your schools site for posting. Maybe I should of been a teacher. Smile. I've been making a few albums on cd's for my brother and my friends. My wife tells me not to make any for her family until I get better. She don't want me to embarrass myself or her. But I feel its all in good fun anyway and they should take me like I am, faults and all. She tells me I should grow some hair to but all them hair creams haven't helped yet. Oh well, hair today, gone tomorrow.

Even without digital cameras or scanners, a person can have a photo CD created when they have their film developed. This is another good source of images.

Yeah, I've been doing that Bill. So far the pictures look pretty good and the cost is reasonable. The scanner is needed because we've got loads of old pictures we want to use that are already developed. We lost the negatives years ago. I've got a Nikon camera that I've had for years and it takes really good pictures. I've got all the lens and filters so that new digital SLR Nikon is very attractive to me. But it costs $1000 so I'll just have to wait. I'd like the commerical version first before I get the camera and my son sure can't afford to buy me either one. He's a good boy with a paper route and he works at Starbucks, but I want him to save his money for college. He's been taking photography lessons and he and I will work on some 3da's together. He's got good design ideas and I'm a little color blind so maybe between us we can use the kalidescope style to make an interesting album. smile. Thanks for the idea. Wife's calling me to bed now. Goodnight.

I agree sharing our videos online gives us all incentive to learn
more and share our knowledge. I appreciate everyone who posts
their work. http://www.neptune.com/
I use neptune at the moment, until I get my website going.
Here is my site www.lpvideos.neptune.com
Neptune has different package. I chose the 500 MB package for a total of
$99.00 a year. At the moment I have 7 videos on my site @ Neptune, which is a total
of 102 MB out of my 500 MB I am allowed.

You can also upload your videos .wmv format directly to Neptune
from Windows Movie maker 2.1
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx
I use Paint Shop Pro for other editing.
I am using Nero 6.6 .... Arcsoft ShowBiz DVd ....
http://www.arcsoft.com/en/products/showbiz/
Ulead DVD MovieFactory3 DiscCreator .... Roxio Easy Media Creator
& the freebie. Windows movie maker 2

Another product I like to use is
Visual Communicator by Serious Magic
free trial - http://www.seriousmagic.com/vctrial.cfm
I also use Audacity for audio http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
mptrim www.mptrim.com plus acid music. (It's free)
I burn my videos at DVD NTSC.
I like creating smaller videos with different styles & then join them together with other software.
I also like to make the smaller video presentations witout music and add in the music later.
I Love 3D-album, so get with it people and start showing your work!
I hope some of this information helps others.
