James: I've purchased 6 or 7 3DTime styles to date, and want to let you know that navigating the 3DTime website is PAINFULLY, PAINFULLY slow. Despite my high-speed connection, it's equivalent to the slowest dial-up speed--including the add-to-cart & checkout screens. I actually leave the computer & do some other activity while waiting for a page to load -- to minimize the frustration. I wanted to let you know not only for my own benefit, but also for yours--the average high-speed connection customer wanting to make a purchase would probably leave the site before doing so.
On a more positive note, the styles you create are beautiful, I've been happy with my purchases thus far, and it's wonderful that you take the time to post clear, in-depth explanations on how to get the most out of your styles and the 3D-Album software.
Thank you & wish you continued success,

Speaking as a high speed broadband user ( 4 meg), i fly around 3d times website.
Every page loads in approximately 1 second, or less. |

Hi DJ,
You might have a problem with your DSL setting. Do you use a router with your DSL modem? I'm asking this because I have this setup at home and did have the same problem of you on any PHP dynamic html pages. Sometimes I even wait forever and have to close the web browser and start it again to continue.
I called my DSL provider and they told me that it is the problem of the router. Then, I downloaded and indtalled the latest router driver, and reset everything with the help from the support of the router comany. It was a complicated procedure becuase I also have a problem with IP address conflict between the router and the DSL modem. I can fly since then.
Hope this information helpful to you. |

Thank you guys for your input--it's helping me see that something is really odd. I say that because I have absolutely no problems with other websites at all! My connection is cable modem also.
These are results from a bandwidth test I just did in the middle of typing this very sentence:
1208.9 Kbps - You 1208.9 kbps (CNET Bandwidth Test)
So what could it be? I'm totally confused at this point. When I visit 3DTime I even try clearing temp files, closing IE & then return to the site... and I always keep on top of maintenance & what's running in the background on my computer..., etc. etc..
Here's another bandwidth test from a different site (Bandwidth Place) taken 2 seconds ago:
Communications 2.2 megabits per second
Storage 268.1 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.8 seconds
So if anyone can possibly shed any light, please do. Thanks again everyone.

DJ: It really sounds strange because our website is not designed graphic heavy. They are normal PHP pages just like pages in 3D-Album Forum. Do you always have this problem with our website or once in a while?

Hi, James. Isn't this a weird one? Yes, I always have the problem. What I forgot to mention is that when I first arrive at the site the home page loads fine... I click on a category--that page loads fine. When I click my back button to maybe view another category, it begins crawling from that point on. (By the way, my computer is Pentium 4, 2GHz, 640MB RAM, & as mentioned, cable modem.) Yesterday I visited again, then visited several other "heavier" sites--& did a screen capture--which I'll send to you if you'd like (it's under 10MB). But no big deal -- since no one else is having the problem, it's obvious that it's not the 3DTime website... so I guess we'll just have to chalk it up to "one of those things." So I'll just continue to take a break while waiting for the pages to load -- I sit in front of the computer too long anyway.

| Hi DJ, try this, wait until the display of the web page is completed (i,e, when all images displayed), then click the link to go to the next page or back. This was my observation when I had the problem with PHP dynamic html pages. If I did not wait for the web page to finish, I'd wait forever for the next page. But since I updated the driver for the router, I no longer have this problem. |

Thank you Nan -- and thanks much for your previous input as well. I'll give that a shot the next time I visit the site.
