|
|
I would like to change the size of all my photos in a 3-D album I already built. I opened the saved 3-D album in the Edit menu and drilled down to the pic files in the folder, MyPhoto. I right-clicked and opened the first photo, then used Control A to select all the photos to edit. I was trying to make the steps for batch editing in Quick Fix apply to the Resize menu instead. I clicked the button to maintain proportion. All of my digital files are 2304 x 1728 and I would like to make them 1024 x 768 as recommended. The first photo I resized automatically cropped the photo rather than maintaining the whole shot. It ended up withi only the top of a roof showing on a landscape. I did not use any other tools and only typed in the new pixel dimensions before clicking apply. I would really appreciate any steps on how to resize using a batch approach.
On another note, I've had trouble creating a simple CD, which after I burn it, it will not open the 3-D Album to auto run. Everything is there that should be there, including the commands and the hidden files. I'm thinking if I resize all these large pics and re-burn the CD, the animation will work properly. I've read a lot of forums and find them very valuable, so thank you for helping a new user to get started! |

For just changing the images size, you go to the "Collect" page in 3D-Album. In the top panel, select your source folder. In the bottom panel, select your destination folder. In the left panel, check the option "Perform the task as specified. Then check the Auto reduce size option. Select all images or part of the images that you want to convert in the top panel, drag them and drop into the bottom panel.
Another possibility that your image does not show from CD is that they are progressive JPGs, which are not good for real-time playing from a sequential storage media (e.g. CD or tape). You may need to re-save them in non-progressive JPGs. Maybe the progressive attribute will be removed after you resize the images (not sure about it.) |

|

| If you burn the folder to CD it won't auto-run. But, if you open the folder, select all its contents and add those to the CD, it will auto-run. I made a lot of coasters before I figured that out. Your computer is looking for the file that gives it the auto-run instructions and, by having it inside the album folder, it does not see the file so it does nothing. |

Re: batch resize several photos:
According to 3D help, I should be able to specifiy a number other than those in the drop down box for "Auto reduce size". I am trying to create thumbnails (200px wide) but it resizes everything to 512, the lowest value in the drop down box.
Ideas?
I have downloaded the latest version of 3D, 3.28 |

| Any answers or is this a bug in the product -- or an exageration of the product's capabilities? |

Currently the automatic batch resize reduces photos, if neccessarily, no less than 512 in either width or height. So the smallest photo it redeuces will be 512x384 (landscape) or 384x512 (portrait).
If you need exact size you want for each photo, please follow the steps below:
1. Copy all photos you want to work with into a new folder in Collect page.
2. Select all copied photos, and right click to choose "open to edit" menu.
3. In Edit page, go to Main>Basic menu and select Resize photo tool.
4. Check on "Constrain proportions"
5. In "New sie in picxels", type the size you want to reduce, eg, 200.
6. Click "Finish" button. In dialog, check on "Next time, do not show this message", if you do not want to have an extra confirm click.
7. Repeat 5 and click Finish for all other photos. |
