I am having the same problem as in the past, while in the capture mode a black screen shows up for 2 seconds. I thought it had to do with SP2. I reconfigered my hard drive and I am not using SP2. It is doing the same thing as before. Please help!
Thanks

| There is a delay (one or two seconds) before the actual capture process can start. But this delay should not appear in your final video output. Check your video output and see if result is correct. |

| A video file is never created. When I push the record button the black screen shows up for two seconds then goes away. I am then back at the capture screen. |

Hprice3864,
What version of the 3D-Album do you use? What video format do you use? What album style do you use?
Cyndy, do you still have this problem? I remember that you've find out a temparary solution to leave the WMP open during the capture. Do you still have to do this way? |

Yes, this is the same problem I have. I have to use the WMP open to get it to capture (the visualization blue window). I really don't want to reformat my hard drive if it will just happen again as I'll loose programs.

After changing alot of settings I got it to capture on mpeg as follows
Movie Type: mpeg, Frame Rate: 29.97, Frame Size: 720x480,movie quality 50.Use high performance, resize the capture, use software rendering, use the VAC built in for mpeg,Use the Vac built in for mp3. After I finished I lost all the sound on my laptop. I did get sound back, not sure what I did. Video looked ok some off color in video and snowflake went too fast.
I converted a second time with the following changes: Movie quality 30, use high quality, use currently installed for mp3, lost the sound again and have not got it back yet. Video looks the same with no difference.
I can not capture using any other movie type except for AVI and I didn't have time to finish and check. I will do that tonight. If you have any suggestions or need more info about my laptop let me know.
Thanks

| The specs on your laptop would be most helpful, especially in regards to its graphics ability. Many laptops with integrated graphics do not have the capability to handle 3D Album. However, with luck, you may need to only update drivers. |

| If you can capture in software but can not when the hardware (graphic video card) is used, the problem may be the driver of the video card, which may have some conflict with OS components. The only difference is that the software capture uses Microsoft generic video card driver and the hardware capture uses the dirver from the video card maker. Can you capture video successfuly before you install the SP2? |

Harry mentioned he is not using SP2.
Also, I don't have a laptop or integrated video card. I took mine completely out and put in 2 others. Neither let me capture, although I have found the work-arounds.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P15, Pentium 4 Processor, 512 MB , 80GB Hard Drive, NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5100 32MB DDR video memory & Realtek ALC202 Codec Chip. If you need any other info let me know. I still don't know why I lose my sound after the capture, and I am not sure how I get it back. I will try to capture with some other settings and let you know. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
Thanks

Harry, you mentioned you installed SP2 in another thread and but unstalled it later. The installation of SP2 cannot be completely undone. A better way you can do might be to go straight forward, i.e., after you install the SP2, download all the new patches and components from Microsoft, including WMP10 and any update of its video codec.
The problem we found with SP2 and WMP10 to play the video in 3D has been fixed in our new service pack. This problem is caused by the change of a utility function in WMP10 and we simply avoided using this function in our new version.
However, the situation in each computer may be different, unless we can create the same problem in our computer, it is hard for us to tell you exactly what is the cause of your problem. |

I installed SP2 but I reformatted my hard drive. I do have some more info. I can only capture using the mpeg, windows media video, Real Media Movie, AVI, DV AVI & mpeg2 and only with software rendering if I try to capture any other way the black capture screen shows up for two seconds and then goes away, leaving me back at the capture screen. If I do capture something using the above movie types with the software rendering the sound button in the create folder screen goes down and I do not have any sound on my laptop until I go in and raise the volume in 3D Album. What could be causing that? I have down loaded all driver updates for graphics & sound, no change in program. Any suggestions, should I change any settings on my display? I spoke to Toshiba and they said it should not be a problem to run the program. I did have an earlier version of 3D Album with seperate VAC and it worked fine on this laptop.
Thanks
