| A very basic question, from a beginer: when downloading new styles or an uploading pack, should I save it in my hard drive, or it's enough to "open" it? Thank you for the pacience with beginers. |

"Open it" is my preferred option.
Do that and when its downloaded to your temp folder a box will pop up.
You'll get the customary click on "I agree" bit, followed by click on "install", and finally click "finish".
Thats it.
I'm not sure if the temp files get deleted or not after that. I run a clean cache program deleting all that sort of thing regulary, using the "open it" option is just my lazy way of not having to delete those downloaded "save" files every time i install a new one |

I think a lot of people do just like Andz and "open" rather then "save". Either one works fine.
I like to save the file, and then execute it after the download is complete. This gives me the abiltiy to reapply the update or new style later. This actually has happend. I had some problems and was able to re-install my original 3.0 CD and then reapply the various styles and updates from my saved area. On the other hand, this could easily be seen as a waste of good hard drive space. And running right away saves you from having to do it later.
So, do which ever one you want. |
