Hi
I have a master folder called C:\3DAlbum, not in C:\My Documents. Within that, there are 5 sub folders. The 1st folder is in an Opening Presentation Style. The next 4 are in Sliding Presentation Style.
I want the 5 folders all to play consecutively and automatically on a CD. The problem is the mixing. What step by step process do I follow to mix them??? Where do I go for the 1st step? icon? folder?
I have the Visviva Animation Capture 2.04 as well as 3D-Album (PE 2.03).
Thanks

I think that version 2 works much like version 3. If so, you would click on the MIXER tab, select the MIXER style that you want to use, and then do a BUILD.
At that point, all you have to do is to copy all files and folders to the CD, and everything should work fine.
Check out my tutorial "How to Create Your First Album": http://www.3d-album.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=567.
Keep in mind that you need to include the vaengine.dll when you do the MIXER build. Also, realize that anyone that you share the CD with will need to have a video card capable of support OpenGL. |

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your reply. I'm progressing slowly, very carefully reading your references. It has led me to more questions because I'm really befuddled.
I will plan to burn the 3D Album on a DVD---Thanks for that point.
Some of my photos are larger than 1024X768 pixels but some are smaller. Most are 72dpi but not all. The photos are .jpg (some are Progressive) and the music is in .mp3 format. Hope that's OK.
First, I don't have a CREATE tab---do I click PREVIEW for that? Or what? Where is the green/gray circle button that restarts the album after I make changes?
Then... in BUILD, do I choose DELETE and lose the existing folder before creating the Presentation? Every time?
In my version, PE 2.03, can I set the Album to play only once? Where, if so?
I think I need to know these preliminaries before I can progress. Maybe my version can't do what I'm expecting???
I appreciate your help.

I'm sorry - I won't be able to fully help you, because my only experience is with CS version 3 of the product. I bought just as it came out.
Here's my shot at your questions. If I guess wrong, someone else will jump in with the right information.
1. Image size. Larger is OK, unless so big that the processing cycles used to reduce them down to a useable size slow up the overall process. Try it, and if it works you're OK. If not, try reducing the size down somewhat. Smaller is OK - in fact, smaller is really good for some styles.
2. Progressive jpegs can cause problems. Again, try and see what happens, and be prepared to convert if need be.
3. Music in mp3 format is no problem.
4. There is no CREATE tab in version 2.xx. Instead, you start your stand alone copy of VAC (Visvivia Animation Capture), which does the same thing. Preview just shows you your album running - same as doing a BUILD and then running the executable code. VAC/CREATE create a movie file of your album.
5. Not sure about where 2.03 sets the view album only once. In version 3, there are two places to check. First, in the individual styles, there is an icon at the top that says to "toggle to enable/disable photo loop". In the MIXER there is a QUIT condition box where you can check either "loop and never quit" or "after last album".
6. DELETE and rebuild. I'm not sure exactly how 2.03 works. Hopefully, you can do a SEARCH in this forum and find out more.

Further info on item 5 above.
Found this in my files. It seems to mean that you can not disable the photo loop. This would mean that you would need to manually stop the CAPTURE (VAC) process after the last picture is displayed.
This is something that Styler explained to me | Quote: | ...However, 2.03 styles cannot disable the photo loop, therefore, the "STOP FRAME = 0" is vritualy useless for 2.03 styles. But the upgraded version of the VAC can be used for all styles created by the 3.0+ version.

I believe you would be much better off upgrading. There are many more features and bug fixes in version 3.27. Some of the newer styles will not work in version 2. If you are considering doing any commercial work with 3D Album, you need the commercial version in order to get the license for commercial production. |
