Can your video editing software do video overlay and convert the white background of one video to transparent pixels? If so, you can select a empty folder. You will get an animation of the floating text on white backgroud. Convert it into uncompressed AVI and use the video editing software to do the combination.

When the error message is reported? Immediately after you selected the AVI compression method from the dialgue, or before the dialogue, or after the captured stated for a while?

If the error is from KERNEL 32.DLL, one of the Windows' system module, chances are you have conflict DurectX components (in different and unmatched versions) installed on your computer due to the installation, possibly unfinished or imcomplete, of some video play/editing/capture software.
