I'm in the process of adding several notes about screensavers to my Tutorial PDF. This one is kind of fun, as it lets you instantly run any of your screensavers just by double clicking on a desktop icon.
Open up your C: drive and right click on the WINDOWS folder. Click on SEARCH and then click on ADVANCED OPTIONS and make sure that there is a check mark by Search system folders, Search hidden folders, and Search subfolders. Leave Case sensitive unchecked. Enter ".scr" in the filename. Click on Search. You will see a list of all your screensavers. 3D-Album's screensaver has the name "vaesaver.scr". Right Click on it (or any other one) and select SEND TO, and choose "Desktop (make shortcut)". Presto, any time you want to see your screensaver run, you can simply double click the shortcut icon on your desktop. Keep in mind that the Vaesaver screensaver engine can run several different screensavers, so if the one you want isn??t running you will need to go into the DISPLAY properties and change the SETTING for the Visvivia Screensaver to choose the one you want.
This works for older browsers too, though you may need to use FIND instead of SEARCH, and you may need to use ??*.scr?? for the search/find portion of the filename. _________________ Bill

Thanks Bill for the tip.
Another way to view your built screensavers is to go to "My Screensaver" tab within 3D-album. All your built screensavers are listed there. You can even edit your style setting there. |

Nan, thanks for the comment.
Viewing from within 3D-Album is a very good way to go, and as you mentioned it allows a person to make changes as well. The only time that won't work is when the screensaver was built in the final step using the MIXER (multi-style album).
My tip is only intended as a fun way to view screensavers (any screensaver really) by simply double clicking an icon on the desktop. It is not intended to be the way people should be viewing their 3D-Album screensavers.
The nice thing about it is that it works for those friends that you've given screensavers to, even if they (the friends) don't have a copy of 3D-Album. _________________ Bill
