A forum user asked about encryption to protect your photos. The Commercial Suite version of the product offers this feature. Stand-Alone ablums, web pages, screensavers, zipped files, etc. can all be BUILT with the photos being encrypted. If you download this, you'll see that the album runs fine and the pictures can be viewed, but the pictures in the photo directory are encrypted.
I thought I would include a little album that uses 3DTime's PanZoom #3 to demonstrate photo encyrption. The album itself has pictures from four different screensavers of mine (Portland Rose Garden, Lighthouses, Las Vegas, and the Oregon Zoo).
I also thought it would be fun to present these using the zipped file. So, to view the album you will need to download the 1.76mb zip file http://www.northwestpages.com/Album1.zip and then extract the files, and click on the exe file. Yes, extra steps, but the final "product" is nice and clear, much better then using a wmv or mpeg video approach. If you don't have a copy of 3D-Album installed, then you will need to download a copy of the free Visvivia Player from 3D-Album's home page.
I really like the way the pan and zoom photo effect looks. I use my own version of it on my http://www.itsoregon.com and my www.lasvegas.northwestpages.com web sites. _________________ Bill

| ok I read somehwere that someone put a word, his initials I think, in the encryption part and that all he got was blank pages when he burned the cd. he did build album then he got blank papers after he burned the cd with nero. I am asking because before I plunk down a couple hundred dollars for I have to make sure its what I need. the effects I have seen are awesome but my main concern is that the brides can view their pics but not be able to have them printed anywhere else but here. |

Encryption
This option is only available for 3D-Album Commercial Suite. If you enter any characters in
the Encrypt Code input, all photo images used in the album will be encrypted
by the code. Your photos can only be viewed within the application you have created.
Users cannot use other applications, including 3D-Album, to view, edit, or print your
photos. |

The one thing you want to be sure of is that when you do the BUILD, you use the COPY PICTURES option. That way, your original photos residing on your PC will not be encrypted. Only the pictures in the new MY PHOTO folder will be encrypted and that is the folder that you will make available to others, whether by CD, internet, or email.
The best thing for you to do is to ask the 3D-Album staff your question, if you want to be sure. Reach them at support@3d-album.com.
Also, you should download my zipped file, extract all the files and folders, and look at the images in the MY PHOTO folder and try to view them using various programs, including the EDIT feature in 3D-Album. The theory says you won't be able to access them except by running the album itself.
Keep in mind that anyone can obtain a copy of any image displayed on a monitor. But, that image is usually not useful for printing 8x10's with. _________________ Bill
