|
|
The start and end frame setting afixes the number of frames needed to create the movie. If you set the start frame to zero the capture will begin with the first frame. If you have the CS version, and enable the "Loop Toggle" button, and set the end frame to zero, the capture will continue to loop until you click the stop button.
If you have disabled the "Loop Toggle" button, you may set the Start and End Frames to zero. When the movie finishes, the capturing process will stop. This feature is available only in the CS Version.
For all other versions, including PE and DVD Suite, you will need to do a simple math calculation. Unfortunately, Micro Research?s explanation on how to do this (Depress the F1 key when you are in Visvia and you will see it), has confused many users.
Try this alternate calculation method instead:
To determine out the End Frame, you need to ?multiple the number of seconds your movie presentation plays,? by the number of ?frames per second required? for the movie format used to burn your disk. For Mpeg1 or Mpeg2 - DVD, SVCD, VCD, in the NTSC format use 30 FPS for calculation. For AVI use 24 FPS. This is the number you type in the Frame Rate: box.
FOLLOW THIS STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURE
1.) Begin by calculating the length of your movie presentation in seconds. You may have to do this with a watch while in preview mode. For example: Let's say your movie is 5 minutes long. You will then need to multiply 5 minutes by 60 seconds. (60 seconds per minute X 5 minutes = 300 seconds). Thus, 300 seconds is the length of your movie.
2.) Continuing to use this example, you then MULTIPLY the FPS, or, ?number of frames per second,? times the length of your movie in seconds. Again - For MPEG viewing in North America (NTSC format), your frame rate will be 30. For Europe and many Asian Pacific Nations, your frame rate will be 25 (PAL Format).
3.) You should now realize that by multiplying 300 seconds (your movie length) by 30 frames per second (your movie format), your End Frame setting should be 9000. (30 X 300 = 9000 Frames).
4.) Set your Start Frame to zero ? your End Frame to 9000. (I always add a bit more than this, say 3-5 seconds, and then use a video editor to trim the final length to the precise frame I wish to end on). _________________ Michael Young

Since Michael's original post, version 3.xx of the product has been released. All 3.xx versions (not just the CS) of 3D-Album now work with the STOP FRAME = 0 feature.
